A dumpster chair & curbside dresser transformed.
This was a chair the Dumpster Dude found - in a dumpster, of course, and a dresser we found curbside. Here are some pics of how we transformed them both into brand new pieces. And Nate Berkus even thought they were cool (two pieces that appeared on his show).
Here is another dresser found curbside that we've transformed. We steamed off the veneer that was peeling up, sanded it down, primed it and painted it. It's a funky red/salmon color with mint green pulls. Love it!
Here are a few more examples of transformed pieces. It is so rewarding to take an item and turn it into something with personality.
Give old side tables a facelift by painting them and playing off their details. I see clunky dark brown hexigon and side tables everywhere. With a little paint and distressing around their curves, they turn into something sassy. Replace the hardware, too, with a colored or glass knob or whatever floats your boat.
Missing drawers? No problem. Just add baskets or create a shelf space with a fabric pattern that goes with your paint color.
