I'm just a normal gal, really. I have discovered over the years that I have a love for old things. Used things. Things with a story. Things that have had a life. I love to channel my creativity into making them usable and wanted again. This need to repurpose and repair items is where the mission of Dumpster Diva was born. You see, some things have already been deemed as "trash" and been sent to the landfill. But there are many items still in transition and those are the ones that I try to save. My mission in my leisure time is to use my creative ability to take an unwanted item and give it a purpose again. A new color, a new shape, a new texture - a new lease on life. It might not have the same purpose it was born with, but so what? And better yet, it’s one-of-a-kind! You won’t find anything quite like it.
Do I really go dumpster diving?
Some people have asked me this. And my answer is: You’d better believe it! This is the thrill of the hunt! You can find treasure in the most unexpected (and sometimes filthy) places. But, don’t worry. If you find something on this site that you'd like to take home, rest assured it will get a bath before it gets to you!
